| They will make you work like slaves, give BS when it comes for promotions, appreciations, heavy on racial discrimination, no processes, it is not a IT consulting company for sure - good for audit and tax but you would be spoiling your career in IT for sure. This comes for a Deloitte Manager who works for them currently. |

My advice to you is to just go. Your counselor and those around you will try to tell you to give it a little more time, to network more, etc. and you too could be successful. They may even try to scare you and suggest you'd be a failure if you left or that you'd be throwing your career away, or that you will never maanage to find another place which is as good as Deloitte. However, if you know this isn't the firm for you, you're better off leaving.. ASAP. Don't let them BS you and don't let them scare you. Take it from someone who overstayed and now wishes he had left earlier. Too many of us are attracted by the perceived "respectability" and "status" of this firm only to later find out that the emperor has no clothes.

| If you haven't had your mid year discussion, should you be worried? |

No.. Counselors have until the end of this coming week to hold discussions. Many of my friends have theirs on Monday.

It was negotiable. You could negotiate for higher if you had proof for some potentially litigant material with you that fit in one of the over two dozen laws applicable.
An acquaintance of mine negotiated a cool 12 weeks on GR.

Signing of GR was worth 4 weeks for everyone. It had nothing to do with level.

Not true. I know a few SC's in my office who got 4 weeks.

4 weeks for signing release was for MGR and above.... the above guy was SC and they have been getting 2 weeks for signing release.

So what was the reason he/she came up with? Disability? Old age?

The most worrying thing about this issue is that some of the people who not in compliance are big shots in S&O. In particular, there is one S&O National Managing Director from the Great Boston Area who has been under scrutiny for grossly violating ethical, financial and professional regulatory guidelines. He is a very senior guy in Deloitte. Let's see how this saga unfurls. I bet he'll just get a little tap on his fingers.

Get a good Employment Attorney from your State/City.
One of the acquaintances did that and got a handsome Settlement. Some of the stuff the HR does could be stupid.
At-will hiring is an excuse mentioned on this forum before. However, there are little-known provisions which might work in your favor.
Protect your rights. Maximize your compensation.
For instance, NATIONAL ORIGIN DISCRIMINATION
The Chief Marketing Officer of a Korean manufacturer of telephone equipment, who had been with the Company for many years and received numerous outstanding performance reviews and awards, was passed over for the position of Chief Operating Officer of one of the Company's major divisions. While he was employed, he asserted, through counsel, national origin discrimination.
Outcome: The Company investigated and although denying liability, gave him a severance package approximating two (2) years compensation, including salary, bonus, incentive compensation, health insurance benefits and a good recommendation. Good faith negotiations were promoted by a comprehensive demand letter sent to the heads of the U.S. and Korean companies. The negotiations were conducted and completed without thirty (30) days.
